ENERCON ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Important!

• Enercon assemblies can be installed horizontally, vertically or diagonally.  Use bushings or reducers to adjust your pipe size to the Enercon assembly pipe size. 
• After installing, blow down strainer to clear line of dirt, scale and condensate before returning to service.
• DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.  The stainless steel unit can crack a cast iron y-strainer when forced.
• Boiler header and drip leg traps must be installed FIRST.
• When there is a possibility of a reverse flow into heat transfer equipment a check valve is needed, regardless of the type of equipment.
• Individually trap all Heat Transfer Equipment (e.g. coils).

Sizing Enercon Orifice Traps

Sizing an Enercon trap is the same as sizing a mechanical trap. We find out the pressure differentials and condensate loads. Then we fit the customer's information to that of the manufacturer. If this matches, we ship the parts.  We occasionally get incorrect information and have to exchange some units. In such cases, we provide the exchanges at no charge and the customer supplies the labor to install them. We have developed a dependable system for double and triple-checking everything and usually sizing is correct the first time, but we are still working with somebody else's data.
